Large grippers for small cobots

Although modern cobots make many things possible in automation that classic industrial robots are unable to do for safety reasons, their comparatively low payload still sets them narrow limits. Particularly when large components or protruding sensors need to be moved, the grippers and carrier parts required for this are often far too heavy and prevent the collaborative robot from being used.

This obstacle can be overcome by using NIPRO lightweight CFRP profiles. The modular system of extremely lightweight yet surprisingly rigid and strong CFRP parts enables designs that can grip and carry very large parts without straining the load-bearing capacity of cobot arms. Especially in combination with mobile manipulators such as the EMROX, this opens up completely new applications.
