ROS 2 Start - UR

If you select a Universal Robots (UR) arm as an additional option for your new mobile robot, or if you wish to integrate one onto an existing Neobotix platform, this package is the ideal choice. Designed to complement the ROS 2 Mobile Base Starter, this option ensures your UR arm runs straight out of the box in your mobile manipulator setup, providing the same seamless, hassle-free experience as our standard platforms.

The features of this starter pack includes:

  • Package Setup: Downloading and testing of all the necessary UR arm packages and the open-source Neobotix MoveIt packages for mobile manipulators.
  • Optimization: Adapting and testing of the ROS parameters and launch arguments for the UR from our bringup, allowing you to control the robot arms straight out of the box.
  • Commissioning: Full commissioning of your UR robots, which includes:
    1. Setup of standard URCaps.
    2. Update the URCaps to support seamless communication between the robot arm and the on-board PC.
    3. 1 year backup of the modified URCaps
  • Exclusive Examples: Exclusive access to source code and examples of controlling your UR arm with the MoveIt C++ API, including:
    • Point-to-Point motion.
    • Moving the robot arm through Cartesian waypoints
